Job Summary
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading mechanical and HVAC system design efforts and making independent engineering decisions. This role includes overseeing complex mechanical projects from early programming through construction administration, guiding and developing junior engineers, and applying advanced engineering practices across all phases of mechanical system design. Key responsibilities include planning and conducting work requiring independent evaluation, leading the design and coordination of HVAC systems, supervising and reviewing work prepared by team members, and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with around eight years of relevant experience, strong HVAC knowledge, and may prefer a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent
- Approximately eight years of experience in responsible charge of mechanical project design
- Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems, engineering calculations, and interdisciplinary coordination
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred
- Advanced coursework, training, or seminars in engineering or management preferred
