Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Engineer, Rocket Motor Systems responsible for the mechanical design and analysis of solid rocket motor components (motor cases, nozzles, propellant grains, igniters, and ignition safety components). Lead design activities, perform CAD design and finite element analysis of structural and thermal systems, generate and release engineering drawings, create technical reports, present at design reviews, and support prototyping, manufacturing, and testing at facilities and supplier sites. Requires 8+ years in mechanical design/analysis, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, CAD/FEA experience, GD&T expertise, strong communication, travel up to 25%, and the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Preferred: technical leadership, NX/Abaqus experience, GD&T certification, MATLAB/Python/Microsoft Excel proficiency, propulsion system experience, and related leadership attributes.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years’ experience performing mechanical design and analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar
- Prior experience operating CAD software and/or FEA software
- A solid understanding of hardware manufacturability and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to travel to other Anduril sites, customer sites, or supplier sites as business demand dictates. Anticipated 10-25% travel.
- Ability to obtain and hold a Secret Security Clearance
