Job Summary
Lead mechanical design efforts for HVAC systems, producing detailed designs, specifications, and calculations aligned with codes and IMEG standards. Perform site assessments, develop technical analyses, and conduct in-process design reviews while implementing quality control processes. Partner directly with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and build relationships, while mentoring staff and resolving field issues. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions and contribute to research, development, and innovation. Stay current on industry trends and prioritize safety by identifying and mitigating potential risks. Requires a PE license, 7+ years of experience, and proficiency in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics. 20% travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- 7 years of experience minimum required
- Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems
- Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
- Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
