Senior Mechanical Engineer - Robotics (m/f/d)

Job Summary
Lead end-to-end mechanical design cycles, taking complex systems from initial sketching and calculations through CAD modeling, prototyping, and full production delivery. Establish and refine engineering standards and scalable processes to ensure high quality and rapid iteration. Act as a technical mentor for junior engineers while driving DFM/DFT best practices with contract manufacturers to optimize BOM costs and sourcing strategies. Execute detailed structural calculations, engineering drawings, and GD&T to guarantee reliable field performance, and run projects end-to-end by planning, budgeting, and managing timelines. Collaborate cross-functionally with electronics, software, and AI teams to validate hardware against operational constraints, proactively identifying bottlenecks to accelerate time-to-market.
Required Qualifications
- Completed vocational training or a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or comparable experience
- Several years of hands-on experience in full-cycle product development and mechanical engineering across multiple companies (not exclusively early-stage startups)
- Deep proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
- Advanced skills in technical drawing creation and engineering calculations
- Proven experience designing around motion control systems, actuators, sensors, and electrical/mechatronic hardware integration
- Hands-on DFM/DFT expertise
- Track record of working directly with contract manufacturers
- Experience managing BOM costs
- Experience with component sourcing
- Experience with change control processes
- Very good English skills
- German language skills
