Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary
Design and develop mechanical systems and moving assemblies for advanced robotic products, taking new designs from early concepts through prototyping, testing, refinement, and production. Apply mechanical analysis and sound engineering principles to ensure designs are reliable and perform as intended. Collaborate with suppliers and outside engineering partners to bring designs into production while working closely with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams throughout the development lifecycle. This hands-on role offers significant ownership for an experienced engineer within an established Pittsburgh-area robotics company focused on next-generation autonomous platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Strong background designing complex mechanical or electromechanical products with moving components and mechanisms
- Hands-on experience with 3D CAD
- Proven experience developing products beyond the design stage through testing, manufacturing, and production
- Experience with motors, gearboxes, bearings, actuators, sensors, or similar mechanical motion systems
Desired Qualifications
- SolidWorks experience
- Robotics experience
- Backgrounds in industrial automation, material handling, aerospace, transportation, medical devices, or heavy equipment
