Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Engineer leading the design, coordination, and delivery of building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping including B31.3) for Savannah River Site facilities. Responsibilities include developing and reviewing engineering calculations, layouts, specifications, and drawings; applying codes and standards (IMC, ASHRAE, NFPA, ASME); coordinating mechanical designs with structural, electrical, architectural, and process disciplines; leading mechanical engineering teams and ensuring technical quality, compliance with SRS procedures, and budget/schedule awareness. Office-based at the Aiken, SC site with potential overtime; candidate must be able to obtain a DOE security badge and hold US citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
- 15+ years in industrial/government design of Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, and related mechanical building systems
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects from concept through detailed design completion
- Ability to obtain a DOE site security badge
- US Citizenship; dual citizenship not permitted
