Job Summary
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will serve as a technical lead within a multi-discipline project team in the Buildings, Energy, and Infrastructure group. Responsibilities include designing and producing construction drawings and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems across various facility types. The role involves client interface, mechanical system evaluations, use of REVIT and AutoCAD for mechanical design, observing construction progress, and ensuring task completion within budget and schedule. The ideal candidate has a strong background in mechanical engineering along with excellent client communication and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical focus from an ABET-accredited university.
- 8-15 years of documented applicable experience working on facilities similar to those described.
- Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida with current NCEES.
- Significant experience using Autodesk REVIT and AutoCAD. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE Standards commensurate with their years of experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading the design efforts of subordinate staff
- Interest in developing new business and a desire to be on a career path to an Engineering Group Manager in 2-5 years.
- Strong organization, technical and communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of precision and accuracy
Additional Requirements
- Resides in the Tampa Bay/Clearwater Area with Florida based experience
- Ability to work in person a minimum of three (3) days weekly in the Clearwater office.
