Job Summary
Lead mechanical design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems by developing detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards. Conduct site assessments, prepare technical reports, and perform in-process design reviews while implementing quality control processes. Partner with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and build strong working relationships. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions, assist in resolving field issues, and provide training and mentoring to team members. Prioritize safety by identifying and mitigating potential risks. Requires a PE license, 7+ years of experience, and 20% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- 7 years of experience minimum
- Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems
- Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
- Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
