Job Summary
Lead design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for healthcare and commercial projects from concept through construction. Perform engineering calculations, load analyses, and energy modeling to optimize performance, while preparing detailed construction documents, specifications, and Revit models. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors to integrate building systems and support construction administration, including RFI responses and submittal evaluations. Mentor junior engineers and manage multiple concurrent projects to maintain quality, schedule, and client satisfaction. Incorporate sustainable design strategies and energy-efficient technologies into every project.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Minimum 8+ years of experience designing mechanical systems for building projects
- Demonstrated healthcare project experience
- Advanced proficiency in Revit
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design
- Thorough understanding of applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and engineering judgment
- Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex engineering projects simultaneously
- Commitment to sustainable, high-performance building design
- Ability to work full-time in the Charlotte office
