Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for leading the design and construction support of HVAC and plumbing systems across healthcare, mission critical, higher education, and commercial building projects. You will oversee the development of construction documents, system layouts, specifications, and technical details; perform HVAC analyses; coordinate with architects, electrical, fire protection, structural, and other teams; participate in business development activities; mentor junior engineers; conduct internal technical reviews and field surveys; support construction administration; and stay current with emerging HVAC technologies and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (Mechanical Focus)
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience within building systems design
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and mechanical building infrastructure
- Deep understanding of IMC, IBC, and applicable mechanical and plumbing engineering codes and standards
- Extensive technical writing and documentation experience
- Strong client-facing communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills
- Proven ability to manage project quality, schedules, and technical execution across multiple assignments
- Experience mentoring engineering staff and leading technical project teams
- LEED AP, CPD, CEM or related sustainability credentials (preferred)
