Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for developing and delivering equipment and processes that meet safety requirements and guidelines, leading asset-improvement projects from inception to start-up, and managing multiple initiatives to improve asset performance and mill systems. Role emphasizes LEAN principles, scientific analysis, and project management, with involvement in training and knowledge transfer, troubleshooting complex issues, collaborating with maintenance and utilities teams, and ensuring alignment with 5-year capital plans. Travel up to 15% and on-call responsibilities are involved in supporting production, packaging, and distribution of Kimberly-Clark products in a high-speed manufacturing environment. The position requires a Bachelor or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) and substantial industrial experience, with a preference for tissue-producing equipment knowledge and experience working with external technical service providers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Industrial experience in a high-speed consumer product manufacturing and/or staff environment
- Cross-functional teamwork experience
- Preferred: tissue converting production equipment knowledge
- Leadership and communication skills
- Experience with external technical service providers
- Familiarity with high-speed manufacturing equipment startups
- Knowledge of Kimberly-Clark engineering procedures is beneficial
- On-call and potential shift coverage
