We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer II with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years of experience in mechanical design for custom power distribution solutions, proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. This full-time role involves designing power distribution equipment, improving engineering processes, and mentoring team members. Competitive salary ranging from $122,000 to $150,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably for custom-engineered power distribution and electromechanical systems
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Ability to interpret customer specifications and site requirements to create accurate mechanical solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance customization with standardization
- Experience defining mechanical specifications and layouts for switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, load banks, and docking stations
- Experience creating detailed technical documentation to support manufacturing, testing, certification, and customer requests
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and design accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience improving engineering efficiency through automation, modularization, or process standardization
- Project management experience leading cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and collaborate across multiple departments
- Experience leading or contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFS (Design for Safety), design for reliability, and testability
- Interest in emerging technologies in power distribution, energy storage, or smart grid systems
