Job Summary
Ensure mechanical engineering discipline work complies with health and safety standards and relevant client codes. Develop project requirements understanding regarding scope, execution strategy, cost, and schedule with the Engineering Manager. Prepare engineering deliverables lists to facilitate budget planning and control. Lead equipment identification, piping system design including hydraulic analysis and P&ID development, and stress analysis. Manage engineering work packages to ensure budgets and schedules are met, taking corrective action as necessary. Represent the Mechanical/Piping practice in coordination meetings and ensure inter-discipline coordination during design evolution. Participate in HAZOP reviews and resolve engineering issues across the project lifecycle from planning to commissioning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum 10 years engineering experience
- Ability to manage and motivate individuals to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives
- Strong deliverable focus, ability to plan you work
- A high degree of understanding of inter-discipline dependencies related to the discipline
- Good understanding of procurement, contracting and commissioning methodologies
- Sound knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the Project
- Well-developed communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Site experience in a technical role is preferred
