Job Summary
Provide design solutions for HVAC and piped gas systems for cost estimation, consultancy briefing, and in-house design. Support construction teams by reviewing technical submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and testing procedures. Deliver engineering projects while supervising junior team members and managing multiple major and minor projects simultaneously. Maintain information on Mechanical Services infrastructure and provide professional advice on programs of work and commissioning. Work across Griffith University campuses including Gold Coast, Logan, and Brisbane City. This fixed-term role supports Campus Life's mission to construct and operate the University's built environment with a focus on environmental sustainability.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering (recognised in Australia)
- registered mechanical RPEQ
- 5 Years or more acting as a senior engineer for contractors or consultants in Australasia
- ideally working on University, life sciences, laboratory or hospital facilities
- demonstrable knowledge of mechanical and BMS systems within building services
- high level of competency using engineering design software such as Carrier HAP, CAMEL, IES, Design Builder, Fantech acoustic & AutoCad/Revit
- Team-focused with the ability to engage with a wide variety of clients and stakeholders
- ability to work proactively with project managers, maintenance and asset management staff
- Excellent communication skills

- Must be able to travel across other campuses including Gold Coast, Logan and Brisbane City (South Bank)
