Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

Review and approve 3D models and 2D drawings for enclosures and bus structures while enforcing mechanical design standards. Support production builds to resolve fit/assembly issues quickly and maintain revision control of designs. Lead root-cause analysis for ECRs and RMAs, implement corrective actions, and identify automation opportunities for repetitive tasks. Mentor engineers to develop internal design capability and champion process improvements. Collaborate with sales, project managers, procurement, and quality assurance to analyze customer feedback and produce or modify product designs. Requires Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience and proficiency in CAD tools like Inventor or SolidWorks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (or related)
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and assembly documentation
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools and Microsoft Office
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in electromechanical product design (industrial cabinets, switchboards, or similar)
  • Familiarity with UL standards (UL 891, UL 1558, UL 67, UL 857, UL 1008)
  • Experience with iLogic-driven templates or BOM governance
  • Experience with VAVE initiatives (cost reduction, manufacturability improvements)
  • Familiarity with design standardization (templates, reusable rules)
  • Experience with PDM tools such as Vault or equivalent
  • Exposure to process automation or toolchain optimization (CAD-to-BOM workflows, ERP/PLM)
  • Ability to analyze recurring issues and propose data-driven improvements
