Senior Mechanical Engineer (Contract)

Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Engineer for a 6-9 month contract, hybrid role with 4-5 days onsite in Sunnyvale. Design mechanical parts and subassemblies to meet user, functional and regulatory requirements; collaborate with internal R&D to ensure manufacturability; work with external suppliers to develop custom parts; conduct risk management and verification/validation activities; coordinate with testing laboratories for product certification; perform reliability tests (drop, ingress, thermal, cycle) and produce engineering drawings, BOMs, tolerance analyses, and design reviews. Support DFX efforts including assembly optimization and line bring-up; contribute to documentation and supplier interactions to ensure compliance and successful product development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Science or Engineering
- Experience with medical device research and/or development
- 5+ years of experience with mechanical design and CAD tools
- 3+ years of experience with manufacturing and assembly process development
