Senior Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineer sought for BR+A Consulting Engineers in New Haven, CT or Boston, MA offices. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality designs and deliverables on technically challenging projects, managing projects, writing proposals, maintaining client relationships, conducting advanced heating and cooling load calculations, developing ductwork and piping layouts, determining equipment room sizes during SD and DD phases, editing specifications, developing air and water flows, selecting equipment based on fan and pump curves, applying psychrometric charts for HVAC, meeting with vendors to determine specifications, coordinating with MEPFP, architecture, and structural disciplines, responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals, planning work within the design process and hours, accurately delivering SD/DD/CD documentation, modifying sequences of operation for AHUs and systems, understanding constant vs. variable flow, and meeting with contractors during bid phase for design details. Essential knowledge includes Healthcare, Higher Education, or Laboratory project experience, strong organizational and communication skills, proactive collaboration, and deadline-driven performance.
