Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for leadership of safe, cost-effective manufacturing in complex production environments, designing process and facility requirements, overseeing projects, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Roles include preparing cost proposals, planning project execution, developing SOPs, QPPs, ACPs, reviewing TDPs and MIL SPEC/MIL STDs, coordinating with government agencies, contractors, and vendors, managing schedules and procurement, and conducting regular client meetings to communicate progress.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related scientific field with 8-10 years of related work experience, or a Master's with 6-8 years of experience
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance
- Interim Secret clearance or ability to obtain
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Proven proficiency in analytical and technical skills for synthesis, monitoring, and scaling of energetic materials
- Experience managing multiple, complex projects with diverse stakeholders (government agencies, contractors, vendors)
- Experience with process safety and material handling regulatory compliance
- Strong leadership and coordination skills with track record leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences
- Ability to undergo and pass a Department of Transportation medical exam
- Ability to undergo and pass a drug screening
- On-site work requirement at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant
- Security clearance sponsorship potential (implied by role)
- Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and oversee manufacturing capabilities
- Experience with design requirements for process and facility design
- Ability to develop SOPs and quality documentation
- Experience with vendor and subcontractor communications for process equipment
- Project management and client-facing meeting experience
- Knowledge of MIL SPEC/MIL STDS and TDP verification
- Experience with cost proposals and project planning
