Job Summary
Lead hardware development for unmanned air vehicles from concept generation to real-world production. Own designs, apply first principles, lead design reviews, perform analyses, visit vendors, and execute hardware test plans. Build prototypes, analyze failures, and support demonstrations; travel to test sites as needed. Requires 8+ years in mechanical engineering for air vehicles, CAD design experience, knowledge of manufacturing methods, and eligibility for a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience on air vehicles
- Experience integrating electrical and mechanical subsystems into unmanned air vehicles
- Experience designing mechanical parts (CAD). Understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, composite lamination, etc)
- BS or higher degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
