Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Engineer role based in New Iberia, LA or Houston, TX responsible for calculations and design of fuel delivery systems for power generation (Natural Gas, CNG, LNG and diesel engines), preparing drawings and PDP for power projects, and supporting proposals, installation and commissioning. Requires producing 3D drawings, PID diagrams, site layouts, piping size and regulation systems, and contributing to reliability and availability studies. Travel 30-40% with onsite visits; requires a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering (Master’s preferred), 5+ years’ experience, and knowledge of ASME/ISO/ASTM/ANSI standards and AutoCAD (3D). Gas equipment certification is highly preferred and candidates must be able to work independently.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred or PhD preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position
- Knowledge of ASME, ISO, ASTM and ANSI symbols
- Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD with 3D experience
- Gas equipment certification highly preferred
- Capable of working on own initiative
