Job Summary

Senior Mechanical Engineer at ABB responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining high quality mechanical design solutions to support new product development, continuous improvement, and plant/production needs. Lead electric motor design and analysis with expert-level motor design capabilities, perform advanced technical analyses including airflow, vibration, and sound level studies, and drive design leadership with focus on manufacturing considerations, cost reduction, and comprehensive testing/validation. Collaborate across technical and functional teams to translate business drivers into technical solutions, document findings for diverse audiences, and contribute to IP generation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • minimum 8 years experience with Electric Motors or rotating equipment design
  • knowledge of electric motor technologies
  • experience with advanced design methodologies (FEA)
  • manufacturing processes
  • customer support experience
  • proficiency in documentation including drawings, BOMs, and engineering records
  • experience with die casting, machining, stamping, plastic molding, and fabrication
  • proficiency in engineering analysis, data reporting, and technical presentations
  • preferred: Master’s Degree in Engineering, Lean Six Sigma or PMP Certifications, SAP, Ansys, AutoCAD, SolidWorks CSWP
  • Candidates must have work authorization to work in the US
