Job Summary
Produce mechanical equipment layouts, models, and drawings per project requirements under Lead Mechanical Engineer supervision. Interpret plant PFDs, P&IDs, and battery limits; coordinate draftspersons on contract drawings and record keeping. Develop design details for standard elements, prepare 3D equipment modeling, and generate 2D drawings from 3D models. Execute designs using applicable standards, vendor data, and enterprise procedures while performing clash detection with other disciplines. Conduct operability and maintainability reviews; create and back model check sheets for equipment changes. Provide material quantity takeoffs for estimating and bulk commodity purchases. Requires 10–15 years of experience in large, multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environments with Bentley OpenPlant exposure. Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience between 10 to 15 years
- At least exposure to similar 3D software
- Experience within a large project, multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment
- Detailed design and modeling skills for the plant layout of mechanical equipment
- Thorough knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to the design and systems related to the project
- For senior designer role, should be able to lead small teams, plan and supervise the work of others
- Understanding of other discipline interfaces and requirements
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure in Bentley OpenPlant preferred
- Familiarity with HAZOP studies
