Job Summary
Lead Mechanical Designer/Engineer with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, strong AutoCAD and Revit skills, and 8+ years in building consulting. Responsible for designing and coordinating HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems across diverse building projects; preparing calculations, specifications, and technical reports; developing detailed drawings; coordinating with architects, electrical engineers, and PMs; participating in site reviews and construction administration; managing timelines and ensuring quality; and contributing to mentorship within the mechanical team. Ontario licensure or eligibility (P.Eng) preferred. Based in Waterloo/Kitchener, Ontario, with a collaborative, mentorship-focused environment and opportunities across commercial, recreational, and institutional facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- P.Eng designation or eligibility for licensure in Ontario preferred
- 8+ years of mechanical design experience within building consulting
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative approach
- Experience in project management or leading small design teams considered an asset
