Job Summary
Lead execution of advanced mechanical design work by independently developing complex deliverables, coordinating physical layout drawings, and resolving design issues for Oil & Gas and Power projects. Plan and execute key outputs including general arrangements, piping isometrics, and equipment location drawings while reviewing equipment outlines and interfaces. Accompany engineers on field walkdowns and client site data gathering to improve design accuracy, providing technical guidance in drafting tools and mentoring less experienced staff. Coordinate effectively with engineering and design teams across disciplines throughout the plant design process. Requires ten years of detailed physical design experience and proficiency with 3D plant layout software. Hybrid schedule involves three office days and two remote days; no U.S. work authorization sponsorship available.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in drafting, or a high school diploma with drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience
- Ten or more years of detailed physical design experience in mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports
- High proficiency with 3D plant layout and mechanical design software tools used to execute integrated physical design work
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate mechanical design deliverables, interface with other disciplines, and guide junior staff
- Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, and field data gathering
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related discipline
- Proficiency with AuroCAD, CADWorx, MicroStation, or similar design platforms used for plant layout and drafting
- Experience with Laser Scanning and working with Point Clouds
