Senior Mechanical Design Lead

Job Summary
Lead design activities across new and existing product development projects, taking technical ownership of mechanical solutions from concept through industrialization. Translate product requirements into clear technical specifications and manufacturable solutions while defining mechanical architecture and design intent. Act as the primary interface to the Project Manager, providing updates on progress, estimates, and risks, and guide cross-functional teams through design reviews, FMEA, and verification plans. Develop 3D CAD models using SolidWorks, optimize designs for performance and cost, and mentor engineers to ensure successful product delivery.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Extensive experience in mechanical product development
- Proven experience leading the mechanical design within multidisciplinary development projects
- Strong CAD skills in SolidWorks and experience working with PDM/ePDM systems
- Experience developing products from concept through production and industrialization
- Experience designing sheet metal products and components
- Experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA/FEM) to validate and optimize mechanical designs
- Good understanding of manufacturing methods and industrial production processes
- Experience with Design FMEA, DFM and DFA
- Ability to translate Product Requirements into robust and practical technical solutions
- Strong communication, planning and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing plastic and cast components
- Experience with HVAC or climate control products
- Experience working in global product development organizations
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and product verification
