Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary
Lead design and engineering of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems from concept through construction administration, fabrication, and commissioning. Develop conceptual and detailed system designs, produce advanced preliminary layouts, and perform heating/cooling load analysis, equipment sizing, and hydraulic calculations. Represent engineering at design coordination meetings, coordinate with fabrication shops for modular concepts, and conduct site visits to verify compliance and resolve design issues. Mentor less experienced engineers on system design and documentation while supporting proposal development and technical scoping. Requires a PE license, 8+ years of mechanical design experience, and proficiency with CAD/BIM tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 8+ years of mechanical design experience

- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and piping
- solid understanding of overall building system operations
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical and plumbing construction documents
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ability to work effectively across all levels of staff, clients, and general contractors
- Strong presentation and public-speaking skills
- Proficiency with CAD/BIM tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Excel)
Desired Qualifications
- Design-build or mechanical contractor project delivery experience
- Experience with Revit MEP and BIM coordination workflows
- LEED or CEM credential
