Job Summary
Provide design engineering support for the Asheville, North Carolina casting and machining product line. Execute mechanical design engineering standard work within a cross-discipline Integrated Product Team, managing deliverables such as producibility improvements, non-conformance dispositions, and field event investigations. Communicate formally with Component Integrated Product Teams, program customers, and Quality to drive product improvement changes and class I ECs. Support the deployment of Model Based Definition, Manufacture and Inspection at the manufacturing site while integrating with existing product value streams and new design technologies.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- minimum 5 years relevant experience
- advanced degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
- Turbine airfoil engineering experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative
- Proficiency with GD&T ASME Y14.5M-1994 and 2018
- Proficiency with MS Office products, Teamcenter, Siemens NX, ANSYS, and classical methods of analysis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and deadlines
- Experience in engineering activities related to products in service
- Experience with fault tree investigations
