Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for designing equipment to support process improvement and automation on the factory floor. Own equipment from design through testing, installation, and commissioning, ensuring long-term durability for production. Collaborate with software, controls, and production teams to ensure equipment meets intended functions. Develop and implement training programs for new equipment. Develop and implement the mechanical solution architecture in partnership with the Chief Engineer.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as an engineer with a proven track record of exceptional ability driven by engineering fundamentals
- Strong CAD experience (NX or Solidworks preferred)
- Capable of driving projects single handedly with limited guidance or input
- Experience designing parts (preferably composite and/or metallic), systems and mechanisms
- Understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, composite lamination, etc)
- Familiarity working in startups or small teams
- Comfortable moving fast and being a part of a quickly changing environment
- Strong understanding of first principles physics
