Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for leading the design and development of mechanical systems for biospheric technologies from concept through production. Create 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings (Onshape, SolidWorks, CATIA), collaborate with electrical/software/systems engineers for integration, manage large assemblies with configuration control, support prototyping, testing, and validation, optimize designs for industrialization, coordinate with manufacturing partners, ensure compliance with design standards and DFM, participate in design reviews, and provide technical guidance within a fast-paced, mission-driven team. Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in mechanical engineering, 6+ years of mechanical design experience, CAD proficiency, understanding of materials and manufacturing processes, hands-on prototyping, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and English fluency (French a plus).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- 6+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing
- Expertise in CAD design (Onshape, SolidWorks, or CATIA)
- Solid understanding of materials, mechanical analysis, and industrial processes
- Experience with product testing, validation, and design for manufacturability
- Comfortable with hands-on prototyping and integration in workshop environments
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- Fluent in English, proficiency in French is a plus
