Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who will serve as the technical authority for mechanical systems design and delivery on large-scale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects. Lead the full lifecycle of mechanical design from concept development through commissioning, focusing on HVAC and cooling infrastructure, with deep expertise in data center cooling, ASHRAE guidelines, and coordination with multiple teams to ensure system reliability and energy performance. Responsibilities include leading technical design reviews, ensuring documentation quality (drawings, piping schematics, airflow diagrams, shop drawings, submittals, commissioning reports), guiding factory witness testing and commissioning activities, and driving continuous improvement through emerging technologies and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the A/E industry
- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer title
- lead the full lifecycle of mechanical design from concept through commissioning
- deep expertise in data center cooling systems
- collaborative leadership style
- experience with ASHRAE guidelines and local building codes
- ability to coordinate with Development, Procurement, Construction, and Operations teams
- ability to drive research and integration of emerging technologies in cooling strategies
- ability to manage schedules and budgets for mechanical scope
- experience with field activities including factory witness testing, TAB coordination, and commissioning
