Job Summary
Lead the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical building systems across residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects from conceptual design through construction administration. Oversee project delivery while maintaining strong client relationships through meetings, presentations, and technical problem-solving at site reviews. Mentor junior and intermediate staff, review drawings and specifications for code compliance, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, structure, and contractors. Contribute to project planning and scheduling while balancing hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- P.Eng designation (APEGA or eligible)
- 8+ years of experience within consulting engineering/building design
- Strong experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, residential, or mixed-use projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and industry-standard design software
- Strong communication and client-facing abilities
- Leadership mindset with interest in mentoring and team development
