Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for tooling and factory automation supporting Terran R production. Develop high-quality development and production tooling and automation solutions; integrate mechanical design and analysis across multiple projects; apply ASME Y14.5 standards; handle tooling design, fixtures, and related equipment from cradle to grave; collaborate with design, manufacturing, and integration teams; manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, installation, and commissioning; contribute to a fast-paced, highly automated production facility with emphasis on tooling performance, safety, cost, quality, cycle time, and reliability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent
- 6+ years of work or project experience with design, build, and commissioning of tooling and fixtures for manufacturing, assembly and test
- Experience using CAD and FEA-based analysis software (NX and ANSYS Workbench preferred) for structural applications
- Experience in full-cycle project completion
- Experience in strategic buildout and project management of tooling supporting production
