Senior Mechanical Consultant (Director) – Power & Energy

Job Summary
Lead technical due diligence, project development support, and engineering reviews for CCGT, gas engine, waste-to-energy, and biomass-to-power projects. Review engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation from EPC/EPCC contractors while conducting technical assessments of gas turbines and balance-of-plant systems. Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle, supporting Lender's, Owner's, and Independent Engineer assignments. Prepare technical due diligence reports, executive presentations, and proposals to support business development and client relationship management. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and regulators including Suruhanjaya Tenaga and TNB. Mentor junior engineers and contribute strategic technical leadership to the Director Leadership Team.
Required Qualifications
- Active Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC) issued by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)
- Mandatory registration as a Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in CCGT and thermal power projects
- Demonstrated experience in technical due diligence, project development, Owner's Engineer (OE), Independent Engineer (IE), or EPC/EPCC engineering design review
- Strong technical knowledge of gas turbines, gas engines, and associated balance-of-plant systems
- Experience reviewing EPC/EPCC engineering deliverables and technical documentation
- Excellent analytical, report writing, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and site visits
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within engineering consultancy, Owner's Engineer, Independent Engineer, or EPC organisations is highly desirable
- Familiarity with international engineering standards such as ASME, API, ISO, IEC, ASTM, and other relevant industry codes
