Job Summary
Draw up master schedules to establish operation sequences and lead times according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Plan and schedule workflow for each department based on established manufacturing sequences, then revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor shortages, or backlogs. Confers with department supervisors to determine project status and expedites operations that delay schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Prepare lists of required materials and tools, draft purchase orders, and maintain timely control of orders and shipping notices to ensure accurate record retention. Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes and resource requirements, while evaluating vendor reliability and developing new supply sources where vendors are inadequate. Maintain daily availability including evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related positions
- minimum of 10 years of directly related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with other employees of organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- general knowledge of Microsoft Office and Inventory Software
- US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance
- Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately +/-10___%
Desired Qualifications
- Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
- Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP...)
