Job Summary
Lead the design and delivery of bulk materials handling systems for mining projects, developing engineering solutions for conveyors, transfer stations, crushers, and feeders. Prepare design calculations, specifications, and technical reports while supporting project delivery across study, concept, detailed design, and execution phases. Collaborate with mechanical, structural, electrical, process, and civil engineering teams, and provide technical leadership and mentoring to developing engineers. Engage directly with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders, and participate in site visits, inspections, and commissioning support when required. Join an established and growing mining team in Newcastle to deliver meaningful projects for major Australian mining clients.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years' experience in mining, minerals processing, bulk materials handling or heavy industry
- Strong experience with bulk materials handling systems and equipment
- Knowledge of conveyor systems, transfer chutes, feeders, crushers, bins and stockpile handling infrastructure
- Experience delivering sustaining capital, brownfield or operational improvement projects
- Strong understanding of Australian and industry engineering standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desired Qualifications
- Chartered status or progression towards chartership will be highly regarded
