Senior Material Handling Facilities & Equipment Engineer

Senior Material Handling Facilities & Equipment Engineer responsible for the specification, procurement, and implementation of material handling equipment for an automotive assembly launch. Owns the full facilities and equipment workstream—from defining technical requirements and developing bid packages to managing contractors through fabrication, delivery, and installation. Acts as the technical authority on equipment decisions and the day-to-day contact for suppliers and fabricators, interfacing with the CapEx procurement team. Develops 2D/3D equipment layouts in AutoCAD, reviews fabricator submittals for compliance, and coordinates installation, punch lists, and vendor management. Collaborates with material flow engineering, industrial engineering, and operations to ensure equipment solutions support line-side delivery strategies, with regular status reporting to program leadership. Location requires consistent on-site presence in Michigan and Indiana-based program engagement.
