Job Summary
Senior Marine Systems Engineer responsible for professionally and efficiently executing work in Marine Systems Engineering tasks for clients. Provides Marine Systems advice and support, manages own technical work, collaborates within multi-disciplinary teams, adheres to business and ethics codes, and contributes to best practices. Acts as Technical Lead, Technical Assurer, and Project Manager on specified projects; works within BMT QMS; maintains technical competency; promotes a positive team culture through input and participation. Role requires knowledge of Marine/Mechanical design across platforms from small vessels to large ships; experience with shipyards, dockyards, owners, Class societies, OEMs; familiarity with IMO regulations, Class Society rules, Transport Canada Regulations, and Canadian Forces Technical Orders; ongoing professional development; ability to identify SQEP resources and developmental opportunities; mentoring staff; dispute arbitration within domain; stamping and sealing Professional Engineering deliverables. Candidates should have a degree in Mechanical or Marine Systems Engineering, 10+ years of experience, professional registration eligibility, and security clearance eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical or Marine Systems Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Marine Systems Engineering
- Existing registration or ability to obtain registration with Professional Engineering governance body in Province of work
- Eligible for a Canadian security clearance
