Job Summary
Provide engineering designs for civil infrastructure projects including ports, harbours, and bridges. Manage projects to ensure completion on schedule and financial performance while maintaining quality and implementing improvements. Act as a technical resource and mentor to junior and intermediate staff. Write, compile, and review technical reports, prepare fee proposals, and gather information during site visits. Develop and sustain long-lasting business relationships with clients while identifying and mitigating potential hazards to promote a safe working environment. This role supports a multidisciplinary team at an employee-owned consulting firm with a 37.5-hour work week, hybrid options, and profit-sharing benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited University
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in civil engineering including specific expertise in marine structures
- Adaptability to represent GEMTEC professionally with clients, developers, or contractors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills needed to convey technical ideas clearly
- Eligibility to register or are currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with one or more of the Atlantic provinces
- Proven ability to manage projects
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Valid driver's license
