Job Summary
Provide engineering designs for civil infrastructure projects including ports, harbours, and bridges. Manage projects to ensure completion on schedule and financial performance while acting as a technical resource and mentor to junior staff. Write, compile, and review technical reports, prepare fee proposals, and participate in site visits to gather information for design activities. Maintain quality throughout projects and implement improvements as determined. Identify and mitigate potential hazards in the field to promote a safe working environment. Develop and sustain long-lasting business relationships with clients while encouraging growth within the group.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited University
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in civil engineering including specific expertise in marine structures
- Adaptability to represent GEMTEC professionally with clients, developers, or contractors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills needed to convey technical ideas clearly
- Eligibility to register or are currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with one or more of the Atlantic provinces
- Proven ability to manage projects
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Valid driver's license
