Job Summary
Senior Marine Project Manager responsible for management and execution of commercial and military ship repair contracts ranging from $1M to $100M. Primary point of contact for customers; lead cross-functional teams including owners, estimators, engineers, subcontractors, supervisors, and production teams. Manage government contracts for compliance, apply estimating methods for planning, develop schedules, supervise project management staff, coordinate contract changes, negotiate modifications, interface with vessel stakeholders, interpret NAVSEA specifications, implement risk and change management, schedule resources, lead meetings, and maintain alignment with executive leadership on project status. Requires Marine engineering knowledge, shipboard systems, and strong communication skills. Travel/relocation to Hawaii required; Honolulu location; eligibility to work in the U.S. and ability to obtain required credentials (TWIC/DBIDS) and Hawaii REAL ID or passport.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 10 years of ship repair or marine industry experience
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience
- Experience managing federal/government contracts
- Knowledge of shipboard tag-out procedures and Navy Work Authorization (WAF) controls
- Experience or training in work sequencing and project scheduling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project (or similar scheduling tools)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; U.S. citizenship required for security clearance and base access
- Ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credential
- Ability to pass post-offer drug screening and background check
- Valid State of Hawaii REAL ID-compliant driver’s license in good standing, or valid U.S. passport plus Hawaii driver’s license (if REAL ID is not held)
