Job Summary
Senior Manufacturing Support - Fabrications Planner on 3rd shift at Sanford, NC. Directly supports Manufacturing Engineers and fabrications on the plant floor through design and documentation of layout, tooling, fixtures, handling systems, safety, and ergonomics, and other duties to support production planning. Provides production support including hydraulic troubleshooting, fixture troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and tooling calibration. Develops final work orders detailing processing steps, identified components, technical installation aspects, and required tooling/fixtures. Updates standard work and assembly procedures based on Engineering input. May create documentation or requisitions for capital and expense budgets. Follows Caterpillar Production System principles (5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, Standard Work, PFMEA/SFMEA, control plans). Uses CAD/Teamcenter systems to develop layouts, production operation sequences, and fabrication routing. Cross-functional communication to complete tasks and provide summaries to leadership. Requires strong problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Also emphasizes CAD/CREO/AutoCAD familiarity, blueprints interpretation, and basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The role is located in Sanford, NC with no relocation sponsorship and no H-1B sponsorship; 3rd shift duties and overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to function as part of a team

- maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area
- Experience in welding and fabrication operations (preferred)
- Advanced computer and Caterpillar systems knowledge (preferred)
- At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Basic AutoCAD/CREO knowledge (pref)
- Technical degree (2-4 year) in Mfg Tech, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (required)
