Job Summary
Join Smith+Nephew as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and major scale-up projects. The role involves driving continuous improvement projects for production efficiency and influencing design decisions for manufacturability. Key responsibilities include acting as a technical authority on manufacturing processes, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring compliance with quality system requirements. Candidates must have a BS in Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, along with knowledge in SPC/DOE and experience in cleanroom environments.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial or related)
- 5+ years in manufacturing or process engineering, preferably in medical device or regulated manufacturing industries
- Proven track record of owning complex process validations and scale-ups
- SPC/DOE experience
- Exposure to cleanroom or aseptic manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA and quality system requirements (ISO 13485, FDA QSR)
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
Additional Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to wear clean room clothing and work in a cleanroom environment as needed
