Job Summary
Coordinate cross-functional efforts across design, supply chain, and production to execute electrolyzer stack and balance of plant builds, covering planning, sourcing strategies, sequencing, and work order creation. Author work instructions and processes to ensure quality standards while managing production team priorities and offering technical direction. Design production tooling, jigs, and platforms to improve build consistency and rate, and support manufacturing shop layouts. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 5+ years building complex mechanical systems. Located in Hawthorne, CA, with on-site availability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace, etc.)
- 5+ years of experience building complex mechanical systems
- Strong understanding of fundamental principles in mechanical and fluid systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Able to work on-site in Hawthorne, CA
Desired Qualifications
- Proven ability to interface with multidisciplinary functions of mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems
- Experience and demonstrated proficiency in developing and implementing comprehensive work instructions and test procedures
- A history of working directly with hardware and subsystems including, instrumentation, power systems, hazardous fluids, and structures in a controlled environment
- Experience working on build, test of complex assemblies at the system and subsystem level
- Experience with scaling manufacturing processes from development through rate production
- When given a set of guiding objectives and principles, you can identify, prioritize, and execute on tasks with minimal supervision
- A willingness to jump in and work side-by-side with technicians
- You have strong organizational, documentation follow-through skills and take pride in the quality of your work
- You are passionate about decarbonization and addressing climate change
