Job Summary
Own manufacturing processes for satellite production lines, from design and validation through ramp to rate. Develop work instructions, routings, tooling, and fixtures to ensure repeatable, high-yield builds. Drive yield, cycle-time, and throughput improvements using data, root-cause analysis, and structured problem-solving. Lead new product introduction (NPI) by partnering with design on manufacturability and smooth production transitions. Specify, justify, and commission production equipment, automation, and capacity expansions. Lead continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S while resolving production issues on the floor. Mentor junior engineers and technicians to set manufacturing engineering standards. Requires 5+ years of experience in high-rate production environments with a BS in a relevant engineering discipline.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience in a high-rate production environment
- Proven ownership of process design, validation, and ramp for complex electromechanical products
- Strong DFM, GD&T, and root-cause / problem-solving skills (8D, DMAIC, PFMEA)
- Experience specifying and commissioning production equipment, tooling, and fixtures
- Hands-on, data-driven, and comfortable leading on the production floor
- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering, or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Aerospace, PV / solar, thin-film, or electronics manufacturing background
- Lean / Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt)
- Experience integrating automation and robotic cells into production
- Familiarity with MES / ERP systems and statistical process control (SPC)
