Job Summary
Senior Manufacturing Engineer on the floor responsible for developing, improving, and supporting production processes for flight-critical aerospace components at Dayton-Granger, Inc. Collaborates with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production to troubleshoot issues, refine workflows, create clear work instructions, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities include designing new process flows and work instructions, implementing advanced production processes and tooling methodologies, developing evaluation plans for new materials or processes, solving high-impact technical problems, applying Lean principles, maintaining FMEA, and ensuring safety and quality standards while performing additional tasks as directed by management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or related Engineering field
- 5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a production environment (not just exposure - must have owned/manipulated processes)
- Hands-on experience developing or improving manufacturing processes, work instructions, or tooling
- Practical experience supporting assembly or production floor activities, troubleshooting issues, and implementing process improvements
- Working knowledge of one or more manufacturing methods such as machining, composites, forming, joining, or assembly (does not need to be all)
- Strong analytical skills — able to collect data, identify root causes, and develop solutions
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills — able to work effectively with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- English fluency (written & verbal)
- Experience with FMEA, Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement programs
- Experience in aerospace/defense or another regulated high-reliability manufacturing environment
