Job Summary
Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead design and development of advanced automation equipment and assembly lines as we scale hardware products. Drive DFM and DFx, assembly processes, quality, reliability, and iterate through prototype to production. Collaborate with Design Engineering, NPI, Quality, and Production teams to resolve issues in production and with contract manufacturers. Develop data-driven action plans, root-cause analyses, and continuous improvement; design and validate prototype tooling and equipment with external builders; oversee ramp-up of production lines, achieve takt time, yield, and labor efficiency targets; maintain comprehensive process documentation and participate in Engineering Change Management. Mentor technicians and production staff; expect hands-on leadership across cross-functional projects and supplier engagements. On-site 5 days a week in Reno, NV.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing processes (injection molding, die casting, machining, assembly automation, potting, soldering, laser, adhesion)
- Experience in large-scale capital equipment design projects (RFI to FAT/SAT/SOP)
- Background in concept-to-production equipment development
- Experience in data collection and analysis for process development
- Ability to travel up to 20-25% including internationally
- Experience working in Agile development environments with Jira
