Job Summary
Senior Managing Counsel to provide primary legal support for Visa’s CARCAM operations from Panama City. Lead legal analysis, draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial and technology agreements, adapt US documents to local requirements, determine when outside counsel is needed, and advise leadership in a matrix, multi-location structure. Requires JD, Bar admission (or in-house counsel eligibility), 15+ years of commercial/regulatory/international experience, strong skills in Spanish and English, and ability to work in a hybrid office setting in Panama. Some international travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Current member in good standing of a State Bar with the ability to become barred or be registered as in-house counsel in the state where this role is located
- 15 years of relevant experience in commercial, regulatory, and international legal work
- Experience in payments/fintech industry is preferred
- Excellent legal analytical skills and bilingual capability in Spanish and English
