Job Summary
Lead design critique and research reviews to set standards for prototyping, interaction quality, and WCAG conformance. Coach the team on documentary-style timeline interviews and JTBD job stories, while defining interaction patterns, principles, and guardrails for AI-driven UX capabilities. Build a pattern library and evaluation approach for AI interactions, integrate AI into research and design operations, and establish handoff standards with engineering. Define research standards and tooling to mature the discipline's rigor, steward the UX career framework across contributor and leadership tracks, and set strategic direction for the design system.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of substantial experience in UX with genuine depth in both user research and product design
- At least 5 years managing designers and/or researchers directly
- Hands-on Jobs to be Done experience
- Hands-on experience designing or leading design for AI or ML-powered features
- Deep command of research methodology more broadly
- Strong design craft
- Experience defining outcome-based UX metrics and using them to move a roadmap
- Real fluency in how design and engineering hand off to each other inside an Agile environment
- Comfort with ambiguity
- B2B or enterprise SaaS experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the Atlassian ecosystem or a comparable platform ecosystem
- Experience scaling a design system or research repository from scratch
- Experience building or rewriting a UX career framework and levelling criteria
- Background contributing to an accessibility conformance program
