Job Summary

Own safeguarding compliance for Nium's UK entities across emoney and payment services, ensuring adherence to EMRs 2011, PSRs 2017, and CASS15. Assess treasury and operational processes against regulatory requirements, design fund-flow diagrams, and act as the escalation point for safeguarding incidents. Perform day-to-day reconciliation checks, provide 4-eyes review of group-level treasury work, and champion automation to reduce operational risk. Make live decisions on UK cash management, diversification, and interest optimisation while balancing liquidity needs against permissible investments. Run the UK Safeguarding Committee, produce governance metrics for senior management, and partner with Product, Engineering, and Compliance to embed compliant controls before go-live.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong background in fintech, emoney, and CASS-regulated environments
  • Hands-on experience with CASS15, EMRs 2011, and PSRs 2017
  • Solid treasury understanding
  • Track record of taking ownership of cash management decisions
  • Experience with reconciliations, 4-eyes/checker controls, and operational risk management
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment
  • Comfortable working with Compliance, Legal, Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams on regulatory and change-management matters
  • Experience chairing or running governance committees
  • Works with initiative - able to identify issues and act without waiting to be told
  • Strong analytical and controls mindset
  • Comfortable owning reconciliation and checker processes daily
  • Data and systems savvy - comfortable working with SQL/Excel/BI tools
  • Clear communicator, able to represent safeguarding matters to committees, Compliance, senior management, and the FCA
  • Able to balance group-wide standardisation with UK-specific regulatory nuance
