Job Summary
Manage a portfolio of privately held clients across various industries by overseeing audit, review, and compilation engagements. Review financial statements and working papers prepared under ASPE, then prepare and review corporate, personal, trust, and partnership tax returns. Provide accounting and tax guidance to owner-managed businesses while handling complex accounting issues and offering practical recommendations. Plan and execute engagements from planning through completion, reviewing work performed by junior and intermediate staff to provide coaching and feedback. Mentor and develop team members while communicating directly with clients, partners, and internal teams regarding engagement status and requirements. Assist with tax planning, special projects, and advisory-related assignments within a collaborative firm environment offering a clear long-term career path with potential for partnership.
Required Qualifications
- CPA designation completed
- 5+ years of progressive public accounting experience
- Strong experience with audits, reviews, compilations, and tax engagements
- Experience managing client files from planning through completion
- Strong knowledge of ASPE and Canadian accounting standards
- Experience reviewing financial statements and working papers
- Previous experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
- Strong communication and client relationship management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with partners and team members
